Ganderbal, Oct 10 (KNO): The Shallabugh–Paribal link road in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district caved in, causing severe inconvenience to the residents of the area.
According to locals, the road suddenly caved in, disrupting traffic movement and cutting off easy access to nearby villages. Commuters and school-going children were particularly affected.
“This road is a lifeline for our village. Its damage has made it extremely difficult for us to reach schools, markets and hospitals,” Abdul Rashid, a local resident told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Another resident, Zahida Bano, expressed concern about safety. “There was no warning or sign of any damage. We fear further collapse if immediate repairs aren't carried out,” she said.
Authorities from the concerned department arrived at the site soon after the incident to assess the damage. Restoration work has begun, and the Jal Shakti Department is also on the ground to restore disrupted water supply lines in the affected area.
Officials have urged residents to cooperate with the departments involved in the restoration process to ensure swift repair work—(KNO)
